Prior to this position, he was the Head Golf Professional at Nordic Hills Resort (Eaglewood Resort) for 5 years, and a PGA assistant golf professional at River Forest Country Club, Biltmore Country Club and Itasca Country Club.
David grew up in Bensenville, IL and played high school golf for Fenton High School. From there, he attended Murray State University obtaining a degree in engineering physics and played on the university’s golf team. Upon graduation, he went to work for Texas Instruments as a marketing engineer, but decided that his true passion was working in the golf industry. After two years living in Texas, David returned to Illinois and began his new career in 1986 as an assistant golf professional at Itasca Country Club. In 1991 he earned his membership into the Professional Golfer’s Association of America, and was recently recognized as a member of the Quarter Century Club of the PGA.
As a PGA member, David has had the privilege to work at private, resort and public facilities allowing him to understand, learn and build his knowledge on what it takes to run a successful operation. In doing so, he places an emphasis on making the golf experience “enjoyable” for customers of all skill levels as priority #1.

Paige graduated with a degree in Marine Biology from the University of Tampa and works as an elephant care specialist at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fl. Austin graduated with a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton and currently is employed by a defense contractor working for the United States Air Force.
Paul Scheffert, PGA
Head Golf Professional

Paul@bloomingdalegc.com
Paul Scheffert is going into his third year as Head Golf Professional at Bloomingdale Golf Club after being the assistant golf professional since the spring of 2002. He grew up in Addison, IL where he played for his High School golf team at Addison Trail. His passion for the game of golf started while he caddied for Butterfield Country Club at the age of fourteen.
Paul has experience in tournament operations, merchandising, and as an instructor has worked extensively with adult, ladies, and junior clinics. Paul’s philosophy is that no matter what level of golfer, “having fun” should be the #1 priority while learning and playing. “By getting the student(s) to be more aware of what they are doing, they can become their own golf coach”. A strong base of fundamentals is the process which can, and will, lead to desirable outcomes.
Paul and his wife Kelly have 3 children; Reese, Paulie, and Byron. When Paul is away from Bloomingdale Golf Club he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, working out, and following all Chicago Sports.
